Woe

Woe

$1,500.00

18X24” on gallery wrapped canvas, this oil painting is the second piece in a series about grief.

“when I lost my sister in 2020, it took two years for me to sit down in my studio and paint. I didn’t know how to express that kind of grief. I didn’t know how to feel or what to feel. This piece talks about potential loss, the sin of a life cut short from a woman who is thriving in her career, has a loving family, and so much to live for. It talks about how addiction is unforgiving, regardless of these things. It touches on the swift swipe of the scythe; unbiased, untouchable, and inevitable.”

“There is a wisdom that is woe, but there is a woe that is madness”

-Herman Melville
