The Process
Marie takes many queues in her figure paintings from trauma, emotion, sex, dystopia, and being female. H.R. Giger has influenced her female forms in color and style. She allows her experiences of being a woman to guide her process. Sometimes, it is a gesture; gentle and light. Sometimes it is bold and bright. Others, it is dark and lustful. She considers her figure paintings her most personal and are mainly part of her own personal collection.
